What is "Phone-Less" About?

WHAT?

  • Amid growing concern about Mental Health in the age of technology / social media, we are proposing an awareness week of periodically disconnecting from our phones (or at least Social Media).
  • To participate, click "Accept Challenge" and record your time doing something other than "being on your phone" -- either as a "pledge" or once you realize you have been doing "something else"
  • See how our Community is doing via "Challenges Stats" link (Feel free to keep track of your personal minutes of course!)

FAQs

Q: Using my phone to call a friend counts??
A: Yes -- "mindful" activities like searching for information, checking a map, calling a friend, or texting a parent/guardian😉 -- are all ok!

Q: Can I do this more than once? Or, for more than one activity?
A: Sure! Just come back and enter your minutes & activities each time!

Q: What if someone "cheats"??
A: Oh well. We are using the Honor System and hope everyone joins in the right spirit and uses their best judgement.

Q: Can I add an "activity"?
A: Sure! For now, use the Contact link and we'll add it to the dropdown within 12 hours.
